2008 all wrapped up...Web on the Piste 2008 is all wrapped up and finished for another year and by all reports was another fantastic conference that all found worthwhile, loads of fun whilst being surrounded by the breathtaking scenery that Queenstown offers. This year's conference was all about Usability and Rich Internet Technologies such as WPF, Flex, AIR, Silverlight, Flash, .Net, Coldfusion and AJAX. Again we had Microsoft and Adobe playing happily together along with 24 top International & local speakers, including web gods Thomas Burleson, Geoff Bowers, Robert Hoekman Jr, Simon Reid, Michael Kordahi & Simon Slooten, discussing the ins and outs of RIAs & Usability with delegates from all over the globe. A big thankyou to our Gold Sponsors Adobe, Microsoft and Cynergy Systems, our Silver Sponsor Nectarine who created the always entertaining intro animations, our Bronze sponsor Daemon and our Local Sponsor HM Associates for their wonderful support of the conference and industry development. ... and who's speaking?
We have some of the world's top Usability gurus coming to the conference such as Robert Hoekman Jr,author of the best selling book "Designing the Obvious" as well a host of international and local speakers.
On the Flex and Flash side we will have top US speakers such as Thomas Burleson (Author of the official Adobe Cairngorm course), and some other very high profile speakers in the Flex community which we will be announcing in the coming weeks.
Also Microsoft's RIA Developer Evangalist - Michael Kordahi will be showing us some of the great new features of Silverlight 2 and how with Visual Studio 2008, Expression & Blend, you can create compelling interactive applications.
