The internet may well be, at least to this point, one the greatest innovations and inventions in the history of the world. The amount of information available to anyone with internet access is simply and totally inconceivable. Web developers in essence do much the same thing but as technology advances and specializations become the order of the day, the web developer and web designer are being seen as two distinctly different professions. Web developers may be part of a huge team or organization in a huge company, while smaller independent companies may only have single developer devoted to their needs.

Many times even still many in the internet and web programming industry consider the web developer and web designer as one in the same. That number is still growing as the internet becomes a leading advertising agent for the 21st century. This has never been truer, the web designer never more needed than now. With the advent of local map marketing the wed designers and developers have a more work than they could ever have imagined. Not only are the regular websites still growing and needing web pages designed but now more and more people are accessing the internet by mobile device, mostly cell phones.

This is a huge change in the game because web designing for mobile devices, such as the iPhone, is completely different than for the computer accessed internet. The memory and display abilities of these devices are far more limited than their desk tops cousins. The web pages have to be designed for maximum exposure while working with the devices limited capabilities. The internet is changing or at least how people access it is. The web designer and developer have to adapt to these changes. More people now are accessing the net via their cell phones than by computers. These people are almost all looking for local businesses that they can visit close to them. Local map marketing is a huge advertising tool on the web now and web designers and developers are rising to the challenge.
