Online Poker Cheating has become its Own Game
Just spend one minute looking up online poker cheating on the internet and you can find an abundant of sources each promising you, this way is best. Or this is the sure fire way to hit it big. Some methods require you and another player to agree to cheat the rest of the table, and others require the dealer to be in on it. To me, as soon as you involve someone else, your risk of getting caught goes sky high. This article is going to discuss some of the various methods of cheating at poker, which you can do alone.
Stacking the deck is the oldest most commonly used form of cheating still. If you can count, you can stack a deck. A little bit of practice shuffling and a few drinks around, and no one notices where you put the great cards. There are even fake shufflers out there, for a more authentic looking cheat; of course you couldn’t stack the deck right?
Everyone knows about marking cards, that’s why casinos regularly trade out the decks. The fact is they do it, because it still happens, and once in a while still succeeds. To up your chances though, do it at your home poker games, not in a casino where you face fines for being caught. Simply blotting or marking your cards, so you know where they are always, and trying to get them back is how this method of cheating works. You have to know your cards very well, and make the marking so tiny no one else sees it. Be careful not to get over confident though, it will show if you always happen to get the same hand every time you win.
A method I did not know was common was pretending to pass out on the table. All of a sudden the hand isn’t going your way; you’ve had a few drinks and bam! Your forehead hits the table. (In front of your own pile of chips of course) You stay there as long as it takes, and just ignore the play going on around you. Eventually you can wake up, and demand you want your money back. Or have a few false memories. This tactic only works a couple times before your buddies will catch on though.
Remember for all of the party poker cheats, there is someone who has done it too, and a little better. They will be watching for their moves. A cheater is very suspicious of other players, assuming they are cheating as well. (Remember guns used to be drawn all the time, over the accusation that someone was cheating.) For every cheating move, there is also a counter move to take away the effectiveness of the cheat.
No method is one hundred percent foolproof. This article is tongue in cheek and funny, only because it’s true. There are players who really try these things, and honest players loose money every day to cheating players. Watch out for a few of these methods next time you’re having a “friendly” Saturday night poker game.
